Secrecy: Journal of Poro Studies is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed scholarly journal published for the Poro Studies Association as a forum for sharing information related directly or indirectly to the interrelated secret societies of the Guinea Coast of West Africa.

The scope of the journal entails everything related to the Poro men’s secret society and related sodalities, transcending political borders and language groups. Contributions are welcome in the fields of art, culture, religion, anthropology, archaeology, ethnography, history, politics, ethnomusicology, ethnobiology and ethnomedicine, museology, among other areas. Original research, historical documents, book reviews, brief communications, and news about society meetings and exhibitions will be considered. Individual papers are made available for online download to subscribing members, as well as periodic print editions.
